Look & behold…It’s our new video!

Check out our happy little video for “Around the World (and Back).” We felt this song deserved a fun visual treatment to match its sentiment, and nothing screams “sweet” like tiny fingers. Huh? Never mind, just watch it already. We’d like to thank video artist Bryan Brinkman for his stunning efforts. We hope you enjoy it, and be sure to pass it on if you do.
Dot Dot Dot – Around the World (and Back)

Like that song? We also just released a new EP. It’s called II, as in Rocky II, or Ghostbusters II, but definitely not Blues Brothers 2000. Enjoy it from iTunes, or grab it from Amazon, etc.

Be the first one to have the second EP, which is actually our third release all together, got it? Excellent. Consider yourself a superfan? Order the Dot II EP & Button Bundle, for which we will love you long time.

Track listing:
Walking in a Straight Line
Around the World (and Back)
Stay (radio mix)
Antidote
Hold You Tonight

Summerfest News
Monday, June 28, 8pm

Our fourth annual return to this granddaddy music festival finds us on the incredible Miller Lite Oasis stage again. Then stick around for headliner Gavin Rossdale, or maybe just to try to catch a glimpse of Gwen. Also, thanks to a promotion by Sentry Foods, Dean’s Milk & Ice Cream, TODAY’S TMJ4 (NBC), all patrons arriving between Noon & 3pm will be admitted for FREE. Check the Summerfest website for details.

Need a ride? A Chicago-Milwaukee Amtrak train can take you round-trip so you can wave goodbye to concerns such as traffic, parking, & BACs. A man probably named ‘Big D’ will then drive you in a free shuttle to & from the festival grounds, & a late midnight ride train will clickety-clack you safely home. So before you fill your Sentra with pricey gas & cheap beer, give another thought to this stylish, venerable method of travel. Plenty of information can be found on, you guessed it, the Summerfest website.

Meanwhile, Stay has hit #66 & can move higher with eveyone’s help. Be sure to let friends know about it if they live in these areas. Many stations also broadcast online & take song requests that way. Thanks for helping to spread the word.

Dear Friends,

We have an announcement. You may want to sit down. This might hurt a little. Okay, it might hurt a lot. Here goes: We regret to inform you of the departure of our drummer and all-star award-winning MVP, Stephan Kohnke. Give it a minute, then read about it in his own words:

To the World’s Best Fans and Friends:

I am leaving Dot Dot Dot. It’s taken months for me to make this decision, but I know in my heart of hearts it’s the right one. For those of you that don’t know me that intimately, I have a family outside of my bandmates. The constant touring that we have been privileged enough to participate in has become increasing difficult on my nearest and dearest. So after much deliberation and with considerable sadness, I am going to be leaving for the most personal of reasons. We are all saddened by the necessity, but everyone in this group believes it is the right course of action.

I love Adam, Lisa, Michael, and Rose like blood. I know I will never find the same chemistry with another group of such incredible musicians and people as long as I live. And please know, and I am confident in speaking for everyone in this band, that there are absolutely no hard feelings, no bitterness, and no acrimony. Just the sadness that comes with a necessary, difficult change. They will always be my best friends and NOBODY will be a bigger fan of theirs than me. Dot continues to blast outward into space but unfortunately our space ship doesn’t have child seats in it, so I must let them head into the cosmos without me.

My search for a new career goes on (assistance & suggestions welcome!) and I will continue to play music around Chicago. Every kid dreams of becoming a rock star and I still do too. But now, I want to be a rock star to my wife and kids.

And do not fear the change for my beloved Dots. They have a new drummer lined up to receive the torch and carry it together with them to the top of Mt. Olympus. I want you all to know how much we really do love each and every one of you, and they will not let my departure change what they do. I’m as excited about the new guy as they are, so please don’t touch that dial.

I will always love Michael, Rose, Adam, and Lisa for what they are: tremendous musicians, incredible performers, and genuinely sincere friends. I can’t thank them enough for the adventures, opportunities, and love and friendship they’ve shared with me. I know that even though I’m leaving, that will never stop. That’s what’s so special about these people: What you all see, is what I and we are all blessed to get. I will miss them tremendously.

Thank you all for what you’ve shared with me. For being my friends and being our fans. It makes our job a gift. All those are hours in the van are worth a thousand times more knowing we’ll get to see you when we hit the stage. I hope that I can see all of you at least one more time in the coming weeks, because it may be a while before our paths cross again.

Thank you for coming to see Dot Dot Dot and I beseech you, I urge you, I implore you to never, ever stop.

All my love and humblest gratitude,

$tephan

Of course, we are saddened, but also hopeful for both our future and his. Know that we are parting on the best of terms. We know that we can count on the support of our friends and fans during this delicate time. We will be celebrating Stephan’s tenure at Metro on June 5th, as this will be his last performance with us in the great city of Chicago. Although he will be with us through the end of June, the next few weeks will be emotionally charged for the band as well as the fans. Be sure to come out to wish Stephan the best and to help us send him off in style.

We, the band, could not be prouder of him. We wish him and his family much happiness. We thank him not just for driving the van over 100,000 miles, but also for having a heart of gold. Fret not, Love, for Dot Dot Dot is fully prepared to carry on. We hope you will stick with us through the transition and beyond. And in case you couldn’t tell from our name, there is always more to come.

Love,

Michael, Lisa, Rose, & Adam

Sweet Peaches & Tasty Treats

Thanks, The South. You treat us well. Here’s a quick recap:

And on Saturday, it’s an all-ages show in Oregon, Wisconsin, at the Labatt Blue Alumni Hockey Tournament and Community Festival. Finally, let’s not forget about our local show (gasp!) at Elgin’s Roadhouse/MainEvent next week.

CLICKY FOR TICKY

The wagon wheels just keep on spinning

We’re back alive & well, but we’re only home long enough to take an April shower & head on back through another nine states. We’ve made some new friends in strange lands over the last couple weeks, & we can sum up the Southeast in under seven words: Ow-sum, Ow-sum, Ow-sum.

Word on the street, yo, is that Santa will be dropping off a present for y’all on Cuatro de Mayo (notice how many cultures have been touched upon in that sentence). We miss everyone, so follow us, catch us, feed us, e-something us. How long till we say goodbye again?

Est. 2007

‘Twas a winter’s eve three long years ago. There we were, barefoot and delirious, Stephan beating a rattle on a skillet, Lisa still doing push-ups with two hands, Michael with fewer than a dozen ducks, Rose speaking almost no English whatsoever, and Adam freshly free of skirt but not quite back in men’s clothes yet.

Come on out this week and celebrate with us as we mark our third year together. Spend a wild Wednesday in Bloomington or catch our two hometown shows this weekend before we hit the road (and hopefully the beach).
