Roadworthy

05/08/12

There are a couple more trips on the horizon, but only a few thousand miles to go. Louisiana & Ohio (close, yes, we know) get to feel our collective thunder this month. There’s also a new venue called Onyx in the Rockford/Machesney Park area, & we can’t wait to get out there to see some of our favorite fans on Thursday, May 24. Outdoor & all ages shows start up in the coming weeks. Find us at Navy Pier on Friday, May 25, & at the Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival on Saturday, May 26.

Did Adam really turn down an offer to be the Jiffy Lube spokesman? Does Marty really have a twin brother with whom he switches up for different shows? Was Little Lisa really married briefly to Heath Ledger’s stunt double? Does Michael really sleep standing up for twenty minutes six times a day? Was Rose really raised by natives in a remote Brazilian village? For the answers to all your questions (& your lucky lottery numbers), take a peek at this interview by Ricky Lee Potts.

Pop Quiz

What would you like? A midweek free show that has potential to make you rich, an early original set (10pm sharp) followed by a night of the usual silliness at Fitz’s this Friday, or the town-wide party that is Bloomington’s Little 500? If you answered “Montpelier,” you’re a little late for last week’s state capitals quiz. The correct response is, of course, all of the above.

South Carolina sounds nice, doesn’t it? What a coincidence. We’re heading there too. Ain’t nothing like some free shows & good weather, y’all.

Here’s how the shiz went down in Biloxi:

Say, collegiate fans, did you save a little March Madness for us? We’re invading WKU, IU, & SIU all this weekend in hopes of  good times. We’ll make our noise if you make yours. Party smarty.

April is apparently the month of our “Grand Casino Tour,” where we’ll “wisely invest” our “combined interests” in things like “19 red” & “double down.” Based on the outcome, we’ll either shrug off these gas prices entirely or start hitting up the pawn shops & blood banks just to get a few more cents of unleaded.

Until we meet again, here’s a sweet fan video.

Another clever title

Our five-year celebrations continue all month long. Somehow, we’re finding time to hit the beach & yet still make all our Chicagoland stops this March. Follow us – it’s like spring training, but with beers & dancing instead of balls & batting practice. Um…hope to see you soon. Until then, make use of these two ever-important words: Shamrock Shake.

It all happens on Saturday, January 28th.

Commuting? We’ll have a party bus taking you from Indianapolis to Bloomington & back so you can start the party early. $30 covers your fare & your show ticket. Book it.

Ho ho ho from Do’ Do’ Do’

12/19/11

In this week’s “Twisted Holiday Moments,” we discovered that Dee Snider lifted “We’re Not Gonna Take It” from “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” This may have been obvious to some, but it’s nice to put two & two together like that every now & again. It’s kind of like when you realized that “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” & the alphabet song were the same tune. Oh, wait, you never knew? Sorry/you’re welcome.

What’s left for this year? Well, there’s an original throwdown in Indianapolis, a “shopping’s done but the relatives aren’t all up in my hair just yet moment to yourself” in Elgin, a NYE practice run in Schaumburg, & Giovanni’s official NYE bash in Rockford.

New stuff, warm stuff, music stuff – it’s all in our shop.
